New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO) Announces Beneficial Changes to Nonprofit EDvestinU® Consolidation Loan Program

Concord, N.H. — EDvestinU®, the nonprofit student loan program of the New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO) has announced changes to its Consolidation Loan Program which now offers potential borrowers lower fixed and variable rates in addition to added repayment terms of 5 and 10 years.

“The changes to the program allow borrowers to choose a program which better suits their needs at even more affordable rates,” explains Rich Neilsen, EDvestinU’s Education Loan Program Manager. “We recognize many borrowers are looking to pay off their student loans – both federal and private – in a shorter amount of time to reduce the overall cost of their loans.”

EDvestinU’s fixed and variable annual percentage rates (APRs) have been reduced to now range from 2.46% – 7.54% with enrollment in Autopay. Repayment terms of 5, 10, 15, and 20 years are now available with no early repayment penalty.

In addition, each month EDvestinU awards three (3) $1,000 scholarships to randomly selected entrants. Eligible entrants are N.H. residents who are or will be attending any Title IV eligible college or university; non–N.H. residents who are or will be attending a Title IV eligible N.H. college or university; and foreign students with a valid visa who are or will be attending a Title IV eligible N.H. college or university.
